How will we be living?
In the future people will most likely to continue on this environmentally friendly track that seems to be beginning throughout this century. Many features of both the inside and outside of houses will be used to help sustain the earth and save money. People will live a very environmentally friendly life with recycling a high priority in the home, building and living materials may be made from recycled materials to help sustain the environment.
Over population may cause apartment living to be more common, fitting more people into a smaller area will make it easier to life in cities and towns.
Houses will need to be built to survive the elements that would effect their area such as fire, floods, high winds, hurricanes and drought. If the environment continues to diminish these type of events would be seen more often and at a higher strength. As we have seen in the past few years these events are rising.
Houses will all be equipped with solar panels on the roof, under ground water tanks to store water that runs off the roof, pools will be more common among households, but they need to be filled with water from the tanks. In fire risk areas the house will be set with a fire repellant cover and in flood risk areas houses will be built a few meters off the ground, much like they are today. Many houses will be made out of mostly window, bringing indoor and outdoor living together. They will be clear but at flick of a button they become frosted, keeping out the heat and reducing the need for air conditioners, and curtains to block nosey neighbors. Depending on the suburb this glass may also need to be bullet proof for the safety of the people living there. It will also be made from recycled glass.
Inside the home i think homes will be open spaces so families can be together while being apart at the same time, Living rooms will have large Lcd Tv sets that take up much of the wall and theater rooms will not be uncommon, Stainless steel will still be in fashion for appliances as it is trendy and timeless.
Cars will most likely be electric and have minimal emissions they will be so smart it is nearly impossible to have a crash as they analyze your surroundings and assist in the driving.
Outside the home people may now be growing their own organic fruits and vegetables because it is cheaper, good for the environment and gardens make the outside of the house look good. Grassed lorn will probably be a thing of the past with either synthetic lorn taking its place or rocks and pavement. Swimming pools may be more common. People will have more native gardens to try and encourage any natural wildlife.
